- Fiduciary and Beneficiary representation
The administration of estates and trusts can be a costly, time-consuming and complicated process. When issues arise about how a fiduciary is fulfilling his or her duties, when a bequest or legacy remains unpaid or uncollected and when the lines of communication between a fiduciary and the beneficiaries of an estate of trust break down, the New York State Surrogate’s Court is venue for resolving these disputes.
Michael C. Levy has worked in and appeared before the Surrogate’s Courts in all five boroughs as well as Nassau, Rockland, Suffolk and Westchester Counties. He has assisted beneficiaries seeking help to resolve conflicts with fiduciaries, counseled fiduciaries on best practices in administering their duties and overseen and reviewed fiduciary accounting for both fiduciaries and beneficiaries.
Michael has also represented clients involved in many other proceedings before the Surrogate’s Courts including will contests, will construction proceedings, fiduciary removal proceedings, discovery and turnover proceedings and proceedings to amend and alter irrevocable trusts instruments.
